All new Guest Shark Emma Grede joins Mark, Kevin, Lori and Barbara on the panel in episode 1301, the season 13 premier episode. Grede comes from the world of fashion and is the first woman of color to be on the panel. Interestingly, there are two fashion companies pitching in the Tank in this episode, one owned by a man of color and another by a woman of color. High School art teacher and coach Lerin Lockwood pitches the Sharks on Lion Latch, an innovative way to store small jewelry while playing sports or gardening. Kristen and William Schumacher hope a Shark takes a slice of Uprising, their gluten free, two net carbs bread that’s shaped like a cube

The Shark Investors negotiate on the spot without any previous information, which differs from typical negotiations between venture capital investors and entrepreneurial start-ups.
