Flora

FloraAabesh De pitches Flora, his health monitor for your plants, in Shark Tank episode 1512. The Flora “pod” measures moisture, humidity, light, and temperature. When it’s paired with the accompanying app, it gives you care tips and advice for over 10,000 varieties of plants. The app also sets watering schedules if you want to set that up.

With the app, all you do is snap a picture of your plant. It then identifies it and tells you exactly what you need to do to make it thrive. The app also serves as an online gardening community where users can share tips and tricks. It’s a free app with a $60 per year fee for the “plus” version. The free version only lets you identify one plant per day unless you want to watch an advertisement.

The company got started with a successful Kickstarter campaign in October, 2022, that raised $54,568. The pods shipped in December, 2022. Since then, the app has grown to over 270,000 registered users and it has annual revenue of around $150,000. The pod can be purchased on Amazon. Aabesh likely wants a Shark’s help fueling growth.

The Flora Pod

Flora Shark Tank Recap

Aabesh will pitch the panel of five Sharks on the business and its prospects for growth. He’ll need to convince Mark Cuban, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, Barbara Corcoran and Robert Herjavec that the company is worthy of a Shark investment. A good business plan, good financials, and sales data will impress the Sharks, but he’ll need to show them HE is capable of running the company to “Shark standards.” A full pitch re-cap on Flora will be available on Shark Tank Blog once this episode airs.
