momentAisha Chottani and Faheem Kajee want a Shark to invest in Moment, their beverage that replicates how you feel when you meditate, in Shark Tank episode 1206. The husband and wife team met while working in South Africa and they both did stints as “Senior Engagement Managers” at McKinsey and Company – a management consulting firm. Aisha started to meditate while at McKinsey. She found it reduced stress, increased focus and improved performance.

The couple started Moment to make the feeling you get when meditating accessible to the masses without actually having to meditate. It’s a botanical beverage that uses natural ingredients that replicate the feeling of meditation. The ingredients include L-theanine which is found in green tea and ashwagandha, an ancient ayurvedic root that naturally helps the body adapt to the negative impacts of various stressors. Together, these ingredients naturally let you find clarity and “re-set.”

The pair started the company in February, 2019 and they’ve had some early successes. They won the BevNET New Beverage Showdown, the beverage industry’s top award. They also were accepted into Amazon Launchpad – something only 35% of businesses succeed at. As of today, Moment is the number one selling flavored water on Amazon. They also sell direct from their company website.

Moment comes in three flavors: hibiscus dragon fruit, rooibos blood orange, and tulsi lemon. All flavors are sugar and caffeine free. A six pack costs $21, a 12 pack is $35. If you opt to subscribe for delivery every two weeks or monthly (they recommend drinking a can daily for best results), a 12 pack drops to $29. Right now, you can only buy online, but they’re hoping a Shark can help them get distribution into retail outlets everywhere. Will a Shark meditate before investing?
