Maya Nazareth has eight years of experience in training in jiu-jitsu. From a person who doubted herself, jiu-jitsu turned her into a confident woman. While the game woke her inner strength, the gear she used to wear for training didn’t.

As she stated in front of the Sharks, the gear was unflattering and baggy around the waist. Also, men’s rash guards didn’t make her feel confident and honor the spirit of the sport.

Female fighters face the same problem, and that is when the idea of commencing her own gear brand hit her. She started with one rash guard in the year 2020, and now, Alchemize Fightwear is a movement. It offers high-performance training grappling gear for women fighters in combat sports.

The brand’s hero product, women’s wrestling singlet, offers a built-in sports bra, high neck line, and double lining through the front and back. The product was engineered with a rash guard, leggings, and a jiu-jitsu gi.

The guest Shark, Alexis Ohanian, was very impressed with the presentation and acknowledged the fact that girls do drop out because of the lack of sports bras.

Let’s dive deeper into the Shark Tank pitch and see the other investors’ opinions about the product.

Alchemize Fightwear Shark Tank Pitch

Maya Nazareth stormed the stage seeking $250,000 in exchange for 5% equity in her brand, further valuing the company at $5 million. She not just pitched but also presented the fighters fighting by wearing her grappling gear.

Guest Shark Alexis also mentioned the growing trend of fathers wanting to put their daughters in combat sports, as per Reddit.

Daymond John also agreed with Alexis. Furthermore, Kevin O’Leary wanted to know more about the numbers. As she began her company when she was a student in 2020, she stated that overall in all these years, her sales were $1.8 million. Maya took this opportunity and shared more about her brand.

The brand grew to $300,000 without spending anything on ad spend, and in 2024, Alchemize Fightwear generated a revenue of $500,000.

Mr. Wonderful, as he cares for the financials, asked about the revenue she is going to generate in 2025. The founder responded that, as projected, her brand is going to make $875,000, out of which her profitability would be 3% to 5%.

Moreover, she shared that the product is sold directly to the consumer with the Shark, Kendra Scott. Most of her sales are directly through Instagram with a very high engagement rate of 10%. While the industry average engagement rate is close to 5%.

Maya also shared the recent spend on digital marketing, wherein her customer acquisition cost (CAC) is $32 on an average order worth $157.

Additionally, she shared her landing cost, which was $27, and the product sells for $90 through the website. Sharks like Lori Greiner and Alexis had a twinkle in their eyes after listening to the financials and the entire story behind the brand.

What Makes Alchemize Fightwear Unique?

There are various reasons why Alchemize Fightwear is unique. Let’s look at some of those reasons:

  • The fighter fit was developed by using data from female fighters. Hence, whether you are competing, striking, and rolling at the highest level, the fightwear is built to perform at your level best.
  • As the product is based on a function-first design, every gear is designed depending on the feedback given by the fighters.
  • Moreover, Alchemize Fightwear is designed to perform under pressure. Thus, it is tested on the mat before giving or selling to any female fighter.
  • The fabrics are selected for durability, training comfort, and flexibility so the fighters can fight without limits.

Did Alchemize Fightwear Get A Deal On Shark Tank?

Maya explained to Daymond that she only builds and holds inventory in the core five products with a very limited collection. Kendra Scott was very impressed by the smart strategy of launching a limited collection, as it creates a sense of urgency among customers.

Lori Greiner was perked up with the brand’s vision and name, along with the guest Shark Alexis Ohanian. Thus, they both decided to offer $250,000 in exchange for 20% equity. Alexis tried convincing the founder that their combined expertise in commerce, retail, and the internet is a plus point of the deal.

Though the founder refused to give 20% equity, she negotiated to give 10%. However, the Sharks countered and asked if she could give 15% of equity in the brand.

However, a refusal from Maya’s end to give that much equity forcedKendra Scott to join and team up with Alexis and Lori. Together, the three Sharks offered $300,000 for 15% bringing the brand’s valuation to $2 million. With Kendra joining the deal, it’s like a cherry on the cake, as she has a 95% female workforce.

Hence, after a round of negotiations between the Sharks and the founder of Alchemize Fightwear, Maya took the deal at a valuation of $2 million.

Alchemize Fightwear Shark Tank Update

After the episode aired on Shark Tank, Alchemize Fightwear launched the East Coast Women’s Grappling Retreat-2026. Previously, they have launched training camps for more than 200 women. After securing the deal, they are planning to launch it on a bigger scale.
