Funky Mellow: The Marshmallow Revolutionaries

funky mellow

Are you ready to embark on a flavor-filled journey through the world of marshmallows? Meet Delisa and Zach Harper, the visionary founders of Funky Mellow, once called “the Willy Wonkas of marshmallows,” who are set to revolutionize the dessert game on Shark Tank this Friday, March 1st!

Funky Mello isn’t just about marshmallows; it’s about reimagining indulgence with a twist of clean, nostalgic delight. Delisa and Zach embarked on this flavorful adventure driven by their passion for wholesome desserts and their own dietary restrictions. Their mission: to create a gluten-free, allergen-free dessert that doesn’t compromise on taste or quality.

A Funky Mellow First

In a market saturated with options, Funky Mello stands out as the world’s first refrigerated plant-based marshmallow creme. Their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary, with national recognition and a growing presence in stores across the nation.

The vegan dessert market is booming, and Funky Mellow is riding the wave with their innovative creations. With flavors like vanilla, strawberry, and cookie, all free of the top 8 allergens and gluten, Funky Mellow has captured the hearts and taste buds of customers eager for clean, indulgent treats.

More Treats

But Funky Mellow isn’t stopping there. In a recent collaboration with Austin-based company Fitjoy, they launched Dippsterz, pairing gluten-free pretzel sticks with their signature vanilla-flavored marshmallow creme, all while giving back to fight food insecurity for children in the United States.

From their humble beginnings selling crispy treats and marshmallows at farmers’ markets to receiving accolades from prestigious retailers like Foxtrot and KeHe, Delisa and Zach’s passion for creating feel-good food shines through in every bite of Funky Mellow.

More Uses

Their marshmallow cremes aren’t just for s’mores; they’re versatile delights that elevate everything from coffee cream alternatives to charcuterie board toppings. With a growing legion of fans finding new and unexpected ways to enjoy their products, Funky Mellow is more than just a dip – it’s a vibe!

So, whether you’re a vegan, have dietary restrictions, or simply love delicious desserts, join Delisa and Zach on their wild, flavorful ride with Funky Mellow. After all, who knew chickpeas could be the unsung heroes of allergen-friendly indulgence?

My Take on Funky Mellow

I stay away from sweets in general so I’m always interested in foods like this. At only 30 calories a serving and without any of the “bad stuff” in regular marshmellows, it looks like a healthy alternative. If it tastes good, the Harpers are going to make a fortune.

Do Sharks Like Marshmellows?

I predict Mark will make an offer for this business and the Harpers will accept. They’re based in Houston, so there’s the Texas connection. The company is minority owned and Mark has been investing in minority owned businesses in the past few years. It’s also a vegan product and Mark is vegan. He has a history of investing in vegan food businesses.
